General Motors Orion Assembly is currently producing the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano. Over its 29 year history, Orion team members have built more than 4.6 million vehicles for General Motors, while setting an industry record of continuous operation without a lost work day (10 million man hours, July 2008). The plant also holds the distinction of becoming the first GM facility to receive the Clean Corporate Citizen designation by the State of Michigan. The facility is located approximately 30 miles north of Detroit, Michigan. Hourly employees are represented by UAW Local 5960.
